the state of knowing

September 24, 2015

In the state of knowing, there's no turning back to not knowing. The only way is through. Because once I know about a thing, I still need to know more. It's like, after knowing the purpose of pencil (that is to help me write things), I need to learn how to write, and know exactly what I should write, otherwise the knowledge about the purpose of a pencil will be a waste.

In that state of knowing, I still need a constant reminder that the pencil's purpose is to help me write things. Because it's easy to use it for other things like holding someone's hair up in a bun, securing a door with a lost latch, and in the process, it's easy to broke the pencil and make it useless.

I know that maybe it's not fair to compare a complicated thing called life with a mere pencil, but I think life also works that way.

Once I know the purpose of life, I can't just turn back and being ignorant. There's something knocking inside me asking the million dollar question of, "now, what?".

Even in the state of knowing (or feeling like being in the state of knowing), I still need that constant reminder about the bigger life goals, the purpose, the aim of a creation.

But then again, how do you know that you know?*
